Who these are for

If you're benchmarking yourself, the guides show where your package sits against the market for your city and modality — not against a national average that flattens the difference between a metro private clinic and a regional public hospital. If you're weighing a move between cities, they let you compare like with like. Sydney's advertised average sits $17,925 above Melbourne's — and roughly half of that is absorbed by rent before you've done anything with it. That kind of comparison is the whole point. If you're relocating from overseas, they set out the registration pathway for your profession alongside what the market pays once you're through it.

How we build them

Every figure traces to a source we name: modern award and enterprise agreement instruments, the ASAR and AHPRA registers, live vacancy counts taken on a stated date, Fair Work decisions, Medicare service volumes and Domain rental data.We state the vintage of every number and refresh on a scheduled cycle, rather than leaving figures to quietly decay.

What we don't publish

We don't publish pay bands for markets too small to support them. There are roughly 1,361 nuclear medicine technologists in Australia — spread across eight cities, that's too thin for a credible city-level figure, so we publish nuclear medicine nationally instead. Thin data is worse than no page. Where we can't evidence something, the guide says so.
